Student travel support

A limited amount of funding is available to support students who wish to attend QCrypt, and lack other means of support.

Preference will be given to students who have been selected to present talks or posters at QCrypt, and do not have other means of support. Applications are encouraged from women students, underrepresented minority groups, and institutions not traditionally represented at QCrypt.

Most students will only receive partial support which will cover their registration fee, though there will be a small amount of funding for travel for those in most financial need.  In general, travel support will only cover the lowest-cost options for travel, e.g., early student registration, shared hotel rooms, and economy-class airfare.

How to apply for student travel

Send the following information via email to studenttravelgrants at qcrypt2017.org

  • A short, two-sentence explanation of why you would like to attend QCrypt, and why you need funding. In particular, have you had a talk or poster accepted at QCrypt? How much funding do you have from other sources?
  • A brief resume or CV, listing your current institution, your level of education, and any previous publications in the field
  • A statement from your advisor confirming your eligibility, and recommending that you attend QCrypt. (This should be sent directly by your advisor.)

Please send this information no later than July 31, 2017.

We will notify you about funding decisions on Aug 21, 2017.

Applications for funding will be reviewed by a committee consisting of:
